Until now GIGABYTE has stayed quite silent on their UEFI implementation, but today we have something quite unique to show you – GIGABYTE’s brand new 3D BIOS Dual UEFI BIOS (yes, it is a mouthful). Rather than going the way of MSI, ASUS and ASRock, who all use a mix of graphics and text in their UEFI implementations, GIGABYTE has opted to provide two different options from within the UEFI.

We have a largely text-based solution that implements a graphical tab menu, but when the ’3D BIOS’ button is clicked, the user is taken to a rotateable graphic (do they seriously consider this 3D?) of their motherboard where they can click on certain sections of the motherboard to change the necessary values. In our opinion, this ’3D BIOS’ is neither 3D nor is it very impressive – frankly, GIGABYTE has managed to take the useful UEFI implementations seen on their competitors boards and split it across two separate interfaces. This is definitely one area where we would have preferred to see GIGABYTE follow the competition.
