As you read this, Ivy Bridge motherboards featuring Intel’s Z77 chipset (essentially the successor to Z68) are being shown off at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. We’ll be bringing you motherboard coverage all week, but today we have two of the major players showing off a couple brand new motherboards.

First off, MSI has on display two of their higher-end Z77 motherboards – the Z77A-GD80 and the Z77A-GD65. The GD80 brings the usual collection of niceties and also includes one of Intel’s Thunderbolt ports, which offers a high-bandwidth connection that can be used to connect a number of devices including monitors, storage devices and even external video cards. For the full story on both of these motherboards, head over to Hardware Canucks!

As for the other company, GIGABYTE, well they had a whole lineup of Z77 motherboards to show off including the G1 Sniper 3, G1 Sniper 3 M3, Z77X-UD5H and Z77X-UD3H. For now there aren’t too many details available, but the folks over at Tweak Town have posted a gallery of these motherboards and, hopefully soon, will publish a video preview!
